Solar was established in August 2006 by a group of volunteers to provide information, advice and support services to people affected by or living with HIV in Northamptonshire.

A Constitution was drawn up, reviewed and a final copy was approved at an AGM in March 2007. Since then, a board of Trustees manages
the affairs of Solar and the office is the main point of contact for day to day activities.

Since inception, Solar has been receiving some financial and material sponsorship from various organisations and individuals. Solar is very grateful for support it has received and hopes more institutions and individuals will come forward and help it towards achieving its future objectives.

To ensure transparency and accountability, Solar’s financial reports are independently reviewed by a financial consultancy firm at the end of each financial year.

The Solar office is open to the public Monday to Friday from
9.00am to 2.45pm. Appointments can be made and many activities
are held outside these office hours.

SOLAR provides services to people affected by HIV within
Northamptonshire. We operate under a strict policy of confidentiality
and anti-discriminatory practice for all our support services.
